Resonance Theory for Schrödinger Operators
Resonances which result from perturbation of embedded eigenvalues are studied by time dependent methods. A general theory is developed, with new and weaker conditions, allowing for perturbations of threshold eigenvalues and relaxed Fermi Golden rule. The exponential decay rate of resonances is addressed; its uniqueness in the time dependent picture is shown is certain cases. The relation to the...
متن کاملA theory of development and design of generalized integration operators for computational structural dynamics
A standardized formal theory of development=evolution, characterization and design of a wide variety of computational algorithms emanating from a generalized time weighted residual philosophy for dynamic analysis is rst presented with subsequent emphasis on detailed formulations of a particular class relevant to the socalled time integration approaches which belong to a much broader classi cati...
متن کاملDevelopment of Nonlinear Lattice-Hammerstein Filters for Gaussian Signals
In this paper, the nonlinear lattice-Hammerstein filter and its properties are derived. It is shown that the error signals are orthogonal to the input signal and also backward errors of different stages are orthogonal to each other. Numerical results confirm all the theoretical properties of the lattice-Hammerstein structure.
متن کاملTheory of Operators Part I. Single Operators
The work of von Neumann on Operator Theory as distinct from the later work on Rings of operators, extends from 1928 to 1932 with certain later additions. I t is a remarkable development in which the inadequacy of formula mathematics for quantum mechanics was established and a new abstract approach introduced. This approach required the abstract definition of Hubert space and reformulation of th...
متن کاملIntegration Preconditioning of Pseudospectral Operators. I. Basic Linear Operators∗
This paper develops a family of preconditioners for pseudospectral approximations of pth-order linear differential operators subject to various types of boundary conditions. The approximations are based on ultraspherical polynomials with special attention being paid to Legendre and Chebyshev polynomial methods based on Gauss–Lobatto quadrature points. The eigenvalue spectrum of the precondition...
